The scenery reminds me of a flight through the canyons of the death star (Star Wars).
My first post for 2023, and so a belatedly Happy New Year to everyone, I wish the best for all of you for this year 2023. This photo I took back when it was all snow and planet Hoth, I took this whilst riding on the back of a Tauntaun. The scenario of the snow, the sun and the green reminded me of having all four Seasons in one day, so why not pay a little tribute to Vivaldi, my best friend's favourite composer, of whom we watched a performance in Berlin by five very talented string players, classical music live is absolutely amazing!

An artists interpretation of an evening in White Pocket.
While editing this image I was suddenly taken over by the right side of my brain similar to the brain rock seen here and went all Bob Ross/Ryan Dyar on this one. Notice how the right side is larger than the left, Hehe. Hope you like it, even though it looks nothing the original scene. ;-)

Photo originale : Cette photo n’a pas été prise sur la planète Enigma où j’habite à temps partiel, mais sur les rives de la Baie de Fundy, en Nouvelle-Écosse (Canada). Cette région est l’endroit où on observe les plus grandes marées du monde, soit près de 20 mètres! À l’endroit exact où je me trouvais pour prendre cette photo, il y avait 6-8 mètres d’eau quelques heures plus tard…

Original photo: This photo was not taken on the Planet Enigma (where I leave part time), but on the shores of the Bay of Fundy, in Nova Scotia (Canada). This region is where the highest tides in the world are observed, almost 20m! At the point where I was while taking this photo, there were 6-8m of water few hours later ...

Since I cannot resist a black and white conversion, here is my monochromatic interpretation of Path and Clouds (I) [Reprocessed] /Sendero y Nubes (I) [Reprocesado]
The Main Railway station (1871) is a treasure of sculptural architectural art. Unfortunately the Czech 'top minds' decided to put major highway (1973-1980) right in front of it and so the exhaust from vehicles is slowly eroding this beautiful building. Sculptors Stanislav Sucharda and Ladislav Šaloun are responsible for most of the decoration. Sucharda got in trouble with moralist of that time with his highly realistic art. If this was done today in Toronto, it would be most likely removed after 1 week.

Our instructions were to make it pretty; this is my interpretation of that.

Eigentlich hatte ich den Aufstieg nur wegen der Aussicht auf die Neue Nationalgalerie gemacht, und hab es nicht bereut, mir die Turmkunstwerke angeschaut zu haben.
"1987 gewann Gisela Breitling den Wettbewerb zur künstlerischen Ausgestaltung des Turmes der St. Matthäuskirche am Kulturforum in Berlin. Sie erarbeitete ein umfangreiches Bildprogramm auf Grundlage der Texte des Matthäusevangeliums. Ihre zeitgenössische bildnerische Interpretation des Evangeliums zeigte ihr ganzes malerisches Können. Vorstudien und Skizzen aus diesem umfangreichen Bildzyklus werden ebenfalls in der Gedenkausstellung gezeigt."

Here's my interpretation of this morning's walk with Marnie. I didn't take my camera with me, so I photographed this with my Samsung phone. We were just entering the park when a herd of cows appeared, running down to take a drink in Powell's Pool in Sutton Park. After they'd had a drink they all settled down and had a bask in the lovely sunshine. It was delightful ! So I did a painting. Hope you like it !
Every summer cows are permitted to graze in Sutton Park, many people objecting, as they leave their large cow pats. Dogs do like to roll in them, but thankfully, Marnie does not. She rolls in other things, but not cow pats !
Sutton Park is a National Nature Reserve and cows help to keep the grass and weeds to a minimum in certain areas.

This is my humourous interpretation of this week's theme for Macro Mondays "Lost/Found".
When I read the new theme on Wednesday, my mind got stuck on what www.flickr.com/photos/janettowbin/ wrote about how it is literally imposible to photograph something which is lost and I started humouring the notion and trying to come up with funny and creative ways to portray it. I realise that this not my most artful macro creation, but I founf it funny enough to want to share. As the new rule of one pic per week is already in application, this shot will not be submitted to the group pool, but I really hope you enjoy it anyway ;D
So I wish you all a very pleasing Sunday evening, my dear friends, and promise to catch up with everyone tomorrow since I've missed a couple of days' uploads... :((

This is Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Believe it or not, the Canyon is located a short 25 minutes drive from the Las Vegas Strip. The Canyon features a one-way 13-mile scenic drive, a Visitor Center offering information and interpretation about recreation opportunities, hiking and plenty of photo opportunities.
The Sun Voyager is a sculpture by Jón Gunnar Árnason, located next to the Sæbraut road in Reykjavík, Iceland. Sun Voyager is described as a dreamboat, or an ode to the Sun. The artist intended it to convey the promise of undiscovered territory, a dream of hope, progress and freedom.
In 1986, the district association of the west part of the city funded a competition for a new outdoor sculpture to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the city of Reykjavík. Jón Gunnar's Sun Voyager won the competition, and the aluminium model was presented to the city for enlargement. The full-sized Sun Voyager was eventually unveiled on Sæbraut on the birthday of the city of Reykjavík, August 18, 1990.
The work is constructed of quality stainless steel and stands on a circle of granite slabs surrounded by so-called “town-hall concrete”. It was constructed in accordance with Jón Gunnar's enlarged full-scale drawing of Sun Voyager and was overseen by Jón Gunnar's assistant, the artist Kristinn E. Hrafnsson. The engineering of the sculpture was supervised by the technologist, Sigurjón Yngvason, in close cooperation with Jón Gunnar himself, the building itself was carried out by Reynir Hjálmtýsson and his assistant.
In an interview published in the newspaper Þjóðviljinn on 11 June 1987, Jón Gunnar describes the genesis of the work as being part of the Scandinavian art project, Experimental Environment, which conducted various artistic experiments in Iceland, Denmark and other places in the 1980s.
In May 1985, a group of artists, members of the Scandinavian art project, Experimental Environment, gathered to take part in the Saari-Vala Environmental Art Action in Bockholm, Finland. There I experienced a sense of the history of the origins of Icelanders, something which is also related in the present exhibition at the Nordic House in Reykjavík.
I had an uncanny feeling that I had been on this island before, when travelling on my way from Mongolia to Iceland, hundreds of years ago.
As you know, there have been speculations that the Icelanders as a race originated in Mongolia. I have discovered the history of their migration to Iceland, which runs as follows: Many centuries ago, a mighty warlord, let’s say it was Alexander the Great, was living in the centre of the known world. He dispatched his bravest and most experienced warriors, along with some women, scribes and other followers, on an exploratory expedition to the cardinal directions, the north, west, south, and east, in order to discover and conquer new, unknown territories. Those who headed east followed the rising sun until they reached the steppes of Mongolia. There they settled down and lived in comfort. Those scribes who accompanied the warriors were expected to document the expedition for the king. Several centuries later, when the documents written by the scribes eventually came to be examined, the people discovered that they had another fatherland in the west. They therefore decided to gather together their belongings and head back west towards the setting sun. We followed the sun for days and years, walking, riding and sailing. We enriched our experience and our determination grew in strength as our journey progressed, and we recorded everything that we saw and experienced. I remember endless pine forests, mountains and waterfalls, lakes, islands, rivers and seas before we eventually reached the ocean. We then constructed huge ships and sailed on westwards towards the setting sun.
As a result of this vivid experience of my participation in this expedition while on the island of Bockholm in the Finnish archipelago, I carved a picture of a sun ship into a granite rock by the sea. The sun ship symbolizes the promise of new, undiscovered territory. It is also being exhibited here at the Nordic House, made of aluminium.
There has been some dispute about the eventual location of Sun Voyager on Sæbraut in Reykjavík. Some people have complained that the ship does not face west, towards the setting Sun in accordance with the concept behind it. The original intention had been for Sun Voyager to be situated in the west part of Reykjavík, for obvious reasons. Jón Gunnar's original idea had been for the ship to be placed on Landakot hill, the prow facing the centre of Reykjavík and the stern to Christ the King Cathedral (Icelandic: Landakotskirkja). Another possibility was that it could be placed by the harbour in the centre of Reykjavík on a specially constructed base. The coastline by Ánanaust nonetheless eventually came to be Jón Gunnar's preferred location for the ship. Unfortunately, changes in the town planning for Reykjavík came to rule out this location. In the end, the final decision was taken (with Jón Gunnar's consent) that Sun Voyager should be located on Sæbraut on a small headland (which the artist jokingly called Jónsnes: Jón's Peninsula). Jón Gunnar was well aware that when bolted to its platform, Sun Voyager would be facing north, but felt that that made little difference when it came down to it.
Sun Voyager was built in accordance with the artist's hand-drawn full-scale plan. Its irregular form with the ever-flowing lines and poetic movement which are a distinctive feature of so many of his works make it seem as if the ship is floating on air. It reaches out into space in such a way that the sea, the sky and the mind of the observer become part of the work as a whole. As a result, Sun Voyager has the unique quality of being able to carry each and every observer to wherever his/her mind takes him/her. Few of Jón Gunnar's works have a simple obvious interpretation. As he stated himself, all works of art should convey a message that transcends the work itself. It is the observer who bears the eventual responsibility for interpreting the works in his/her own way, thus becoming a participant in the overall creation of the work. Jón Gunnar's works frequently make such demands on the observers, giving them the opportunity to discover new truths as a result of their experience.

Está integrado en la comarca de Cameros, concretamente en la subcomarca de Camero Nuevo, situándose a 50 km de Logroño por la carretera N-111, que atraviesa el término municipal en el kilómetro 286.
El extenso término municipal ocupa buena parte de la cara norte de la Sierra Cebollera, que incluye el parque natural del mismo nombre. El río Iregua, que nace en el territorio, forma un profundo valle en su descenso de sur a norte, recibiendo el aporte de los numerosos arroyos de la zona y del río Mayor. Por el oeste, las sierras de Frihuela y Castejón, integradas en el Sistema Ibérico, hacen de límite, junto con la Sierra Cebollera al sur, con la provincia de Soria. En Villoslada hay un centro de interpretación del parque natural de la Sierra de Cebollera.
El techo del municipio es una enorme planicie llamada La Mesa (2168 m) que comparte con Lumbreras de Cameros. El segundo punto más elevado, que da nombre a la sierra, es el pico Cebollera (2141 m), compartido con los municipios de El Royo y Sotillo del Rincón. El núcleo urbano se alza a 1072 m sobre el nivel del mar.
Villoslada de Cameros is a municipality and town in the autonomous community of La Rioja, Spain. The municipality, located in the region of Cameros, has a population of 348 inhabitants (INE 2023).
It is part of the region of Cameros, specifically in the sub-region of Camero Nuevo, located 50 km from Logroño on the N-111 road, which crosses the municipal area at kilometre 286.
The extensive municipal area occupies a good part of the northern face of the Sierra Cebollera, which includes the natural park of the same name. The Iregua River, which rises in the territory, forms a deep valley in its descent from south to north, receiving the contribution of the numerous streams in the area and the Mayor River. To the west, the Frihuela and Castejón mountain ranges, integrated into the Iberian System, form a limit, together with the Sierra Cebollera to the south, with the province of Soria. In Villoslada there is an interpretation centre for the Sierra de Cebollera natural park.
The highest point of the municipality is a huge plain called La Mesa (2168 m) which it shares with Lumbreras de Cameros. The second highest point, which gives its name to the mountain range, is the Cebollera peak (2141 m), shared with the municipalities of El Royo and Sotillo del Rincón. Temple in honor of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called near Askold's grave.
The temple and the memorial sign were designed and built using the idea of a vertical dominant: a small chapel at the base (6x6 m.) Aspires to height (height 18 m.).
The chief architect of the project is N. Zharikov. The temple was built in the Ukrainian baroque style, but with elements of its modern interpretation. The external icons of the chapel were made in the technique of ceramic painting (author - L. Meshkova).

From a series I'm working on - visual representation of the laws, theories and hypothesis that govern the universe.
I love simplicity, but thoughts are complicated, sometimes you need a complicated image to invoke your thoughts at that moment. The story behind this image is to reflect what an artist sees through another artist's work.
It is very hard not to capture other bystanders in a public display. I took many shots with my tripod and use Photoshop Stack to remove all the other point and shooters but this photographer. He just stood there for a long time and appeared on most of my frames. So I put him back on this image to reflect his admiration at that frozen moment.
So-- above is my interpretation of the fabulous Goldfrapp's album art "Head First." I absolutely LOVE Goldfrapp...I think I could use every song she ever made in my pics... 😀

The book in the image and title, written in Greek, is a dictionary of dream interpretations and is over sixty years old. It was scanned. The leaf was photographed on the street. The two images were basically processed in Lightroom and combined using Gimp layers.

Another textural interpretation of trees. I do rather seem besotted by them just now (the trees certainly... perhaps wobbly shots too :) ).
I'm playing with a more impressionistic style at the moment, mainly because ICMs seem to lend themselves to that. I keep hoping I'll get back to some real photography again and suddenly transmute into a normal photographer. I delude myself, i know :)

Various interpretation of the bonnet livery--one war and one blue--have the Santa Fe adequately represented against the calm morning waters of the Meramec River at Times Beach, the second of 4 encounters H STLTUL4 18A will have with the Meramec on its trip "upriver" across the Cuba Subdivision in southern Missouri. The Frisco selected a three deck truss span design to bridge the river at this location, the current configuration of which rests on the concrete half of the inconsistently constructed piers left from when the route was double tracked on its easternmost 34 miles between St. Louis and nearby Pacific. I have made my first step into the Macro World and I have to say, I find it fascinating. I know that Dandelions are very popular subjects but I am not sure you have seen this interpretation before.
At the first look of this closeup, I have directly seen the allegory with the human brain. Even with less complexity and features, I believe Nature is much nicer graphically.

A slightly different but equally wild interpretation of a big sea at the coast. Long shot kick de bucket, is a great reggae track by The Pioneers, and this was a long shot, and if you fell in you'd definitely Kick de bucket in a sea like this. Days like this are really addictive. Virtually all photographers locally flock to Porthcawl Lighthouse, and I had this great stretch of coast to myself. I know which I prefer.
